JAKARTA - PT Alam Raya Abadi (ARA) strongly denied the allegations of Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) regarding alleged legal mafia and obstruction of investigations in the Act Number 25 of 2017 which is claimed to regulate cooperation in the management of a mine worth 20 million metric tons.

Commissioner of PT ARA Christian Jaya confirmed that the deed was invalid and was never known or approved by the company.

"PT ARA has never known, approved, or signed a mining management cooperation agreement as claimed in Act No. 25 of 2017," said Christian in Jakarta, Friday, January 23.

According to Christian, the claim of the existence of the deed began from the information report submitted by PT Cahaya Lentera Harapan Baru (CLHB) to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police in 2025 and then upgraded to a police report.

However, he assessed that the legal basis for the report was problematic.

Christian highlighted the time anomaly, because the new deed was questioned eight years after the date of manufacture.

"If there is indeed a large-value agreement, it is impossible that there has been no realization for years," he said.

He also emphasized that according to the company's AD/ART, every transaction above US$100,000 must be approved by the board of directors, the board of commissioners, and shareholders. The approval, he said, never existed.

From the results of checking to the notary's office, his party found that Deed Number 25 with the same number and date actually contained a cancellation deed, not a mining agreement.

Regarding the accusation of legal mafia, Christian stated that the request for a special case title was the legal right of the accused.

PT ARA is also considering further legal steps for the dissemination of information that is considered not true.
