JAKARTA - The government has confirmed that the economic package policy will continue until 2026.
The decision was taken following the successful implementation in 2025 which was considered effective in maintaining people's purchasing power while encouraging job creation.
Spokesperson for the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Haryo Limanseto said that the government is currently drafting and finalizing various programs in the economic package for next year.
"The current government is also continuing to mature the preparation of the Economic Package program which will continue in 2026," he said in his official statement, Tuesday, January 13.
At least five main programs are confirmed to continue next year, including the National Internship Program, adjustment of the period of use and expansion of the recipient of the Final Income Tax (PPh) incentive of 0.5 percent for MSMEs until 2029, and the extension of the Government-Covered Income Tax (DTP) for workers in the tourism sector and labor-intensive industries.
In addition, the government also continues the Government-Covered VAT (DTP) policy for the housing sector, as well as extending and expanding the discount program for Occupational Accident Insurance (JKK) and Death Insurance (JKM) for all Non-Wage Recipients (BPU).
