BPR This is Allegedly Blackmailing Customer Funds Up to Billions of Rupiah, Customers Have Reported to OJK Since September 2025

JAKARTA - PT Bank Perkreditan Rakyat (BPR) Multi Sembada Dana is suspected of embezzling customer funds up to billions of rupiah. The suspicion surfaced after one of its customers, PT Aditya Laksana Sejahtera (ALS), filed a formal complaint with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) on September 15, 2025.

The complaint was submitted to the OJK Consumer Protection Division, located at Menara Mulia 2, Jakarta, with complaint number P250902223. In his complaint, PT ALS asked the BPR Multi Sembada Dana to provide an account mutation for the 58 billion on-call deposits he had.

However, until given the opportunity twice by the OJK to provide a response, the bank was said to be unable to provide information on account mutations as requested by the customer.

According to PT ALS, this action is contrary to Law Number 10 of 1998 concerning Banking, especially Article 44A paragraph (1), which requires banks to provide account information to their customers. If this obligation is not fulfilled, the bank can be subject to criminal sanctions as stipulated in Article 47A, with a threat of a minimum 2-year imprisonment and a maximum of 7 years, as well as a minimum fine of Rp. 4 billion and a maximum of Rp. 15 billion.

"We strongly suspect that the bank has embezzled our funds because it is unable to meet the request for account mutation. We believe that the bank's inability to provide information is due to serious errors that are very detrimental to us as customers," said Andi Citrawali SH, as a business legal expert at PT ALS, in his statement, Friday, December 19.

In the complaint process, PT ALS said it received assistance from Sintiya, an OJK employee at the Consumer Protection Division. OJK is said to have promised a mediation process between the customer and the bank to bring the two parties together, determine the issue, and find the best solution.

However, PT ALS admitted that it had waited for almost two months without certainty regarding the mediation schedule. This condition has caused disappointment and allegations of attempts to prolong time without clarity.

"The mediation promised should be a means to find the truth and a solution. However, until now there is no certainty, so we are considering taking further legal steps, both criminal and civil," said PT ALS.

Until this news was published, the BPR Multi Sembada Dana has not given an official statement regarding the allegations. OJK has also not given an official statement regarding the progress of handling this complaint.
