JAKARTA - PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) as a Subholding of Pertamina Gas implements the KASIH BUMI CSR Program (Kedungturi Asri and Clean for Earth) through the Si-Lestari Innovation (Integrated Waste Management System) in Kedungturi Village as an effort to empower the community based on community participation to create an integrated and sustainable waste management system.

Through the Si-Lestari Innovation, PGN encourages environmental management that starts from the source and encourages the community to play an active role through the development of an Integrated Waste Bank system in Kedungturi Village which not only focuses on waste sorting, but also the sustainable use of waste.

Overall, 4.9 tons of inorganic waste were managed until September 2025 and 321 residents of Kedungturi Village also managed waste from the results of the Si-Lestari innovation.

"Through the PGN CSR program, this Waste Bank also plays a role as a platform for environmental education and processing inorganic waste into products with economic value and environmentally friendly, so that it provides real benefits for environmental sustainability, increasing independence in waste management, and improving community welfare," said PGN Corporate Secretary, Fajriyah Usman, in a statement, Friday, December 19.

"This program prioritizes the principle of collaboration between the PGN CSR program with the Kedungturi Village community and stakeholders in community-based environmental management.

"In order to support the strengthening of the environmental education program, PGN also carries out waste sorting education at the Bina At-Taqwa Daycare to instill environmental awareness from an early age, as well as supporting the development of a Green House at the Kedungturi Elementary School as a means of learning practice and support for the Adiwiyata Program. This series of activities aims to build a sustainable culture of environmental care in the family, school, and community environment.

"In addition to providing environmental and social impacts, this Si-lestari innovation also generates significant and measurable economic impacts for the Kedungturi Village community. Through the integrated waste bank system, a total of Rp8,187,250 per year is recorded for the waste bank manager. Meanwhile, 92 individual customers have a total income of Rp4,307,810 per year, and 14 dasawisma group customers have a total income of Rp10,807,100 per year from the management of inorganic waste.

"PGN through the KASIH BUMI CSR Program believes that the success of environmental management is not only determined by infrastructure, but also by the active participation of the community. Through the Si-Lestari Innovation, we encourage the creation of a sustainable environmental care culture while strengthening the independence of the community based on local potential," concluded Fajriyah.
