Bagation Waiting Time Is Still A Complaint, InJourney Airport Targets First Bag 15 Minutes

BOGOR The trunk waiting time is back in the spotlight ahead of the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year (Nataru) holidays.

InJourney Airports or Angkasa Pura Indonesia is committed to improving services and targeting the release bag to be in the range of 15 minutes.

Pgs Corporate Secretary Angkasa Pura Indonesia Arie Ahsanurrohim explained that the length of the baggage process was influenced by many technical and operational factors in the field.

About the old baggage, there are many issues. Starting from the issue of ground handling capacity, the issue of vehicle flow on the airside, then the issue of airport layouts is also included," said Arie at the media gathering event Angkasa Pura Indonesia, in Bogor, Friday, December 12.

According to him, each terminal has different characteristics that also determine the speed of baggage handling. A wider terminal or longer from the plane to the conveyor belt tends to take longer.

"Maybe if my friends landed at Terminal 2, T1 would be faster. But Terminal 3 is quite a long time, especially internationally, because there are some areas that are quite far away," he explained.

Even so, Arie ensured that InJourney Airports had prepared a number of acceleration steps, including improving the flow of vehicles on the airside, optimizing equipment, and increasing coordination with ground handling.

In fact, Arie said that his party is targeting the delivery of the first baggage or first bag to be set at a maximum of 15 minutes after passengers get off the plane.

"God willing, the best effort does need the first trunk in 15 minutes. The fastest is 15 minutes, depending on where it comes from," said Arie.

Arie tak menampik keluhan soal waktu tunggu bagasi menjadi salah satu yang paling sering muncul saat musim liburan.

Karena itu, pihaknya akan memperkuat koordinasi dengan maskapai dan operator ground handling agar potensi penumpukan bisa dikurangi.

“Meskipun banyak isu, sudah ada beberapa langkah yang disiapkan agar layanan bagasi lebih cepat,” tuturnya.

Arie did not deny complaints about the trunk waiting time being one of the most common during the holiday season.

Therefore, his party will strengthen coordination with airlines and ground handling operators so that the potential for buildup can be reduced.

"Despite the many issues, several steps have been prepared so that the baggage service is faster," he said.
