JAKARTA - The government has reported positive developments regarding the implementation of the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) program in Indonesia.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto stated that the commitment of international funding to support the energy transition in Indonesia is getting stronger.
He added that the value of funding to support the energy transition has now increased to US$21.4 billion or around Rp356 trillion (at an exchange rate of Rp16,660).
"The commitment is back to JETP, funds have been prepared for Indonesia, the commitment is 20 billion US dollars, and now it has increased to 21.4 billion US dollars," he said at the Press Conference on the implementation of the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP), Friday, December 5.
He said the total USD 21.4 billion of funds consisted of USD 11.4 billion of public funding originating from the International Partners Group (IPG), as well as USD 10 billion from GFANZ.
"This shows the strong international trust in renewable energy projects," he explained.
Airlangga said that until November 2025, Indonesia had succeeded in mobilizing funding of US$3.1 billion through the JETP scheme.
In addition, funding worth 5.5 billion US dollars is still in the negotiation stage for a number of concrete projects.
In addition to financial support, several partner countries also provide technical assistance in the form of studies and implementation frameworks.
He gave an example, such as Britain and Ireland, having handed over Just Framework Study which contains strategies to strengthen economic resilience and encourage an inclusive energy transition in Indonesia.
In addition, Airlangga also expressed his appreciation to the Japanese government for its contribution through the JETP Secretariat and all IPG donors for the preparation of the JETP Progress Report 2025 which is in the finalization stage.
On this occasion, Airlangga also explained a number of projects that are currently being carried out through JETP funding, including the Sulawesi Green Energy Corridor (GECS), dedieselization programs, geothermal projects in Sumatra, as well as Waste to Energy initiatives.

He emphasized that JETP is an important part of the national energy transformation agenda, especially with the stipulation of a target of 70 gigawatts of clean energy capacity in the plan to develop power plants until 2034.
According to Airlangga, the availability of funding around US$21.4 billion is a great opportunity for Indonesia to accelerate the realization of various green energy projects.
"So this is a big commitment project and therefore with the availability of funds amounting to USD 21.4 billion is a large fund and it depends on Indonesia and across ministries to accelerate it," he concluded.
