Strengthening EV Ecosystem, PLN Presents SPKLU R2 For Two-wheeled Electric Vehicles

JAKARTA PLN UID Jakarta officially presents SPKLU R2, an electric vehicle charging station specifically for electric motors, electric scooters, and electric bicycles. This new infrastructure adds to the option of charging, which was previously more available for four-wheeled electric vehicles.

In one location, SPKLU R2 provides two chargers, and each unit can serve six vehicles at once, so that one SPKLU R2 can accommodate 12 electric motors at the same time. Each SPKLU R2 is equipped with up to 35 thousand watts of power," explained PLN Priority Service Manager UID Jaya, Andika Rama, at EV Rides With Media, Wednesday (3/12).

To access this service, users simply use the PLN Mobile application, scan the QR Code, and follow the instructions in the application. SPKLU R2 also operates 24 hours, so that electric motorcycle users can charge at any time.

General Manager of PLN UID Jaya, Moch. Andy Adhaminordin, said that EV Rides With Media was held to introduce SPKLU R2 to the public, including online motorcycle taxi drivers. "We want to show that electric motorcycles are safe, clean, efficient, and now the infrastructure is getting ready," he said.

Currently, PLN UID Jakarta Raya operates 681 SPKLUs in 354 locations. Of these, 98 SPKLUs are high-power charging (>60 kW) and 71 SPKLUs are in the range of 25'60 kW which is widely used by daily motorists.

PLN Prepares 2,148 Personnel To Face Christmas And New Year

Entering the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 periods, PLN UID Jakarta increased electricity service preparedness. A total of 2,148 personnel, 17 standby posts, 3 generators, 58 UPS units, 5 crane trucks, 86 operational cars, and 236 operational motorbikes were alerted throughout the service area.

PLN also applies a Service Level Agreement (SLA) standard with a maximum response time of 45 minutes for each customer complaint.

EV Convoy Rides With Media Introduces New Filling Infrastructure

EV Rides With Media activity was attended by around 30 media crews and dozens of ojol drivers. The convoy route starts from PLN UID Jaya Gambir, Central Jakarta, to PLN Bulungan, South Jakarta, stops at Parle Dining Senayan Park, and returns to the PLN UID Jaya office.

This activity is expected to further show the readiness of the electric vehicle ecosystem in Jakarta, as well as introduce the presence of SPKLU R2 as a new service for electric motor users.
