JAKARTA - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI ensures that all banking services in North Sumatra and West Sumatra have returned to normal operations after being affected by floods and landslides in recent days.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said the service recovery was carried out through quick steps, including the use of global satellite internet services in a number of outlets so that customer transactions could continue without obstacles.

"We want to ensure that the public can still access financial services even in disaster conditions, because the sustainability of financial transactions is very important for daily needs," Okki said in a written statement, Wednesday, December 3.

Okki continued, BNI deployed satellite-based connectivity support at the outlets of Mount Sitoli, Sibolga, Pandan, and Teluk Dalam.

All of these points are now fully functioning so that the banking operational process can run again optimally.

Okki added, as many as 12 BNI outlets that were previously affected by the flood are now back to normal operations serving customers in the areas of Medan, Sibolga, and Gunung Sitoli.

In addition, 47 ATMs that were not functioning due to puddles have returned to being active.

As an additional effort, BNI has also opened limited operational services to help people who are flood victims.

The service was opened on November 29, 2025 at BNI KC Gunung Sitoli, and November 30, 2025 at BNI KC Sibolga and BNI KCP Pandan, to ensure urgent financial transaction needs can still be served.

"BNI ensures that it will continue to monitor developments in the situation and prepare further steps to maintain the stability of banking services in the affected areas," said Okki.
