JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) said that shrimp exports to the United States (US) from October 31, 2025 until the end of December can reach 10,000 tons with a total value of IDR 1.8 trillion.
This was conveyed by the Head of the Quality Control and Supervision Agency of Marine and Fisheries Products (Badan Mutu KKP) Ishartini in his remarks at the release of exports at Tanjung Priok Port, Jakarta, Wednesday, December 3.
"We report that from October 31 to the end of December, exports (redients) to America will reach 605 containers (with a volume) of 10,000 tons worth Rp1.8 trillion," said Ishartini.
Ishartini ensured that all shrimp exports were free of Cesium-137 (Cs-137) contamination and met the requirements requested by the United States Food and Drug Supervisory Authority, the FDA.
"Today, we report that the Cesium-137 free certification is ready to carry out shrimp exports back to the United States after going through a scanning and testing process by quality inspectors in the Java and Lampung fish processing units," he said.
He explained that his institution has been designated as a Certifying Agency since October 31, 2025 by the authorities of the United States or USFDA. With this status, only fishery products pass the Quality Certificate and Safety of Fishery Products (SMKHP) as well as radiation tests that are allowed to be exported.

"This is proof that the state is here to protect the public from the risk of radioactive exposure while maintaining the sustainability of the national shrimp industry," he said.
As for today, the KKP has again released Indonesia's shrimp exports to the US after obtaining Cs-137 contamination-free certification. In this shipment, the total export volume reached 182 tons with a value of Rp. 25 billion.
The export is the second shipment since the government confirmed that Indonesian shrimp products meet international radiation safety standards.
It is known that Cs-137 free certification was issued through cross-institutional cooperation, namely the KKP, the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and the Nuclear Energy Supervisory Agency (Bapeten).
