Government Extends SPHP Corn Distribution Until January 2026

JAKARTA - The government has decided to extend the distribution of corn for the Food Supply and Price Stabilization program (SPHP) until January 2026. This program targets small businesses.

Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan said the program should end on November 15, 2025. However, the government decided to extend it on the proposal of the breeders.

"We will extend it until the end of January because the goods are still in Bulog to supply livestock entrepreneurs or animal feed who are MSMEs, in Blitar, in Central Java, corn or SPHP will be given at a subsidy price," he said at a press conference, at the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs Office, Jakarta, Tuesday, December 2.

Zulhas, as he is familiarly called, emphasized that the program must be prioritized for small businesses. Given, the price of corn is currently rising.

"Seeing the condition and development of corn prices that are high and tend to rise, so we will extend this until January. But this is with the Minister of Agriculture's notes, we are SPHP for local entrepreneurs, yes, not big ones," he said.

In addition, Zulhas also said that he would accommodate the DPR Commission VI proposal regarding the supply of special corn to pig breeders in Bali as much as 50 tons.

"I think pigholders in Bali also need corn, pork breeders just ask for 50 tons," said Zulhas.

Sekadar informasi, Presiden Prabowo Subianto sebelumnya juga sudah mengeluarkan Instruksi Presiden (Inpres) Nomor 10 Tahun 2025 tentang pengadaan dan pengelolaan jagung dalam negeri serta penyaluran cadangan jagung pemerintah.

Melalui beleid itu, target pengadaan jagung pipilan kering berasal dari dalam negeri untuk tahun 2025 ditetapkan sebesar 1 juta ton dengan Harga Pembelian Pemerintah (HPP) Rp5.500 per kilogram (kg), dan ditetapkan kadar airnya di angka 18 hingga 20 persen.

For your information, President Prabowo Subianto has previously issued Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 10 of 2025 concerning the procurement and management of domestic corn as well as the distribution of government corn reserves.

Through this regulation, the target for the procurement of dry flat corn comes from within the country for 2025, which is set at 1 million tons with a Government Purchase Price (HPP) of IDR 5,500 per kilogram (kg), and the water level is set at 18 to 20 percent.
