Purbaya: Negotiations With China Are Still Ongoing, The High Speed Train PSO Has Not Been Decided

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadive, admitted that he did not know whether to participate in a visit to China to negotiate related to the debt of the Jakarta Fast Train project "Bandung" orASH.

If later involved, his party will ensure that the agreement made can secure the interests of the Indonesian government.

"I don't know if I brought it yet. But it seems, if we really have to get involved, I want to see what the term looks like. So securing the term for us too, for the Indonesian government too," he told the media crew to be met at the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy Office, Wednesday, November 26.

Even so, Purbaya admitted that he was aware of the Danantara Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rosan Roeslani's plan to take him to fly to China.

In a joking tone, he said he was ready to participate as long as the travel costs were borne

"He said Rosan wanted to take me, he said. Oh, tomorrow I want to meet Rosan. As long as he's the one who pays, just go there," he said.

When asked about the possibility of the involvement of the State Budget in the settlement of MAYh's debt, Purbaya stated that he could not confirm this and would wait for further results from the ongoing negotiation process.

"I don't know about that. We'll see what the negotiations will be like. It's still being negotiated," he explained.

Regarding the discourse of providing operational subsidies or public service obligation (PSO) for the Jakarta Fast Train "Bandung", Purbaya handed it over to Danantara as the authorized party.

However, he emphasized, any decision could not be taken before China's negotiations were completed.

"The PSO system is in the Danantara. We basically, if I'm not mistaken, that's what the government's infrastructure is for. But we still see what the outcome of the negotiations will be, so it hasn't broken yet, so we want to go there, to China," he said.
