Focus On Oil And Gas, Pertamina Starts To Release Hotel Business To Hospital

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) has begun to process downsizing the corporate business by consolidating four non-core business sectors such as insurance, hospitals, aviation and hotels.

The divestment process is carried out under the auspices of the Anagata Nusantara Power Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara).

Pertamina's Director of Business Transformation and Sustainability, Agung Wicaksono, said that the process of releasing this business was intended so that Pertamina could focus on core business or business core core cores, especially in the oil and gas sector, processing to energy distribution and also including new and renewable energy.

"There is a consolidation process for the four business sectors owned by Pertamina under the auspices of the Danantara," Agung said in a hearing with Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Wednesday, November 19.

The first sector that was consolidated was the hospital, namely PT Pertamina Bina Medika Indonesia Healthcare Corporation (IHC). According to him, the release of the hospital business was carried out based on the results of the Danantara study.

"Pertamina Bina Medica IHC, which with a study conducted by Danantara, is being carried out in various stages of the process for a series of transactions to be carried out in 2025," continued Agung.

Meanwhile, the second sector is hospitality managed by Pertamina's subsidiary, PT Patra Jasa.

Agung detailed that there are nine hotel business units that Pertamina will release.

According to him, this divestment will be implemented after a study led by PT Hotel Indonesia Natour (HIN), which is part of the Tourism and Supporting BUMN holding (InJourney).

"With a study led by Hotel Indonesia Natour or HIN, this consolidation process will be implemented," explained Agung.

Furthermore, Pertamina's airline, Pelita Air Service (PAS), is currently undergoing a consolidation process by Danantara.

"Pelita Air Services or PAS owned by Pertamina is currently in accordance with the direction of the Danantara conducted a study coordinated by Garuda Indonesia to determine the best steps for this consolidation," explained Agung.

The last sector is insurance which is currently undergoing the process of reviewing the consolidation of state-owned enterprise-flagged insurance companies (BUMN).

Asal tahu saja, proses konsolidasi bisnis asuransi ini tengah dilakukan oleh Indonesia Financial Group (IFG) sebagai holding BUMN asuransi.

Agung bilang, proses ini tidak hanya dilakukan oleh Pertamina, tapi juga oleh perusahaan asuransi lain di ekosistem BUMN.

"Dikoordinir oleh IFG sebagai holding BUMN asuransi dan secara bertahap ini bukan hanya Pertamina tapi banyak sekali berbagai perusahaan asuransi di ekosistem BUMN yang akan dikonsolidasikan," tandas Agung.

Just so you know, the insurance business consolidation process is being carried out by the Indonesia Financial Group (IFG) as an insurance state-owned holding company.

Agung said that this process was not only carried out by Pertamina, but also by other insurance companies in the BUMN ecosystem.

"Coordinated by IFG as an insurance state-owned holding company and gradually this is not only Pertamina but there are many insurance companies in the BUMN ecosystem that will be consolidated," said Agung.
