Jasa Raharja Ensures Compensation And Care For Victims Of Cipali Toll Accidents

Jasa Raharja ensured that all victims of consecutive accidents on the Cipali Toll Road Km 72+500 Line B (direction Jakarta) Cikopo Village, Bungursari District, Purwakarta Regency, received compensation and maintenance guarantees in accordance with applicable regulations.

Acting President Director of Jasa Raharja, Dewi Aryani Suzana said the accident that occurred at around 02.30 WIB on Tuesday 18 November killed five people and injured 39 others.

According to the initial report, continued Dewi, the incident began when an Agra Mas B 7654 KGA bus traveling from Cirebon to Jakarta crashed into the back of the B 2508 TFT minibus on the fast lane.

Dewi said the strong impact made the minibus pushed forward and hit the back of the PO Sinar Jaya B 7895 TGA bus which was stopped due to traffic queues. The successive collision caused two vehicles to bounce off the track, hit a road divider, then fell into a ditch on the toll side.

Dewi said, the injured and dead were immediately evacuated to two hospitals in Purwakarta. A total of 33 people were injured being treated at Abdul Radjak Hospital Purwakarta, while 6 others received medical treatment at Siloam Purwakarta Hospital.

"As soon as he received the incident report, Jasa Raharja Purwakarta Branch moved quickly to coordinate with the Purwakarta Police for data collection on victims and ensure that the handling process took place quickly and precisely. Jasa Raharja officers also visited the two hospitals to provide assistance and guarantee management for injured victims," he said in an official statement, Tuesday, November 18.

Dewi was also present at Abdul Radjak Hospital and Siloam Purwakarta Hospital to visit the victims. He emphasized the company's commitment to fulfilling compensation rights in accordance with the mandate of Law Number 33 and 34 of 1964.

Furthermore, Dewi explained that the heirs of the deceased are entitled to receive compensation of Rp. 50 million, while the injured are guaranteed treatment costs of up to Rp. 20 million which are paid directly to the hospital.

"In addition, Jasa Raharja also provides additional benefits in the form of first aid costs (P3K) a maximum of Rp. 1 million and ambulance costs of up to Rp. 500,000 per person. All of these benefits are the rights of the victims and we will make sure they are distributed quickly and precisely," said Dewi.

Jasa Raharja invites all public transport operators and bus drivers to pay attention to safety aspects before operating.

Dewi also invited all stakeholders to continue to improve the safety culture on the highway. The company ensures that it is part of the state's social protection system.

"Transportation safety must be a top priority. We urge public transport operators and bus drivers to always ensure that the condition of the vehicle is roadworthy before operating. Inspection of safety components such as brakes, tires, and driver conditions is very important to prevent similar incidents," said Dewi.
