JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI conducted a series of emergency simulations at 17 Jabodebek LRT stations throughout November as part of the program to increase the preparedness of officers.
Jabodebek LRT Executive Vice President Mochamad Purnomosidi said this activity aims to strengthen the mastery of procedures, communication flow, and technical steps needed when dealing with potential incidents in the station environment.
Purbomosidi said that the implementation of simulations at each station is adjusted to location characteristics so that officers can train in conditions that resemble the situation on the ground. This approach provides an opportunity for the entire team to evaluate responses, test coordination, and ensure that all procedures run consistently.
"This training is an important means so that officers are able to work quickly, directedly, and remain calm when facing critical situations. Controlling procedures is the main basis for maintaining user safety," he said in an official statement, Monday, November 17.
Purnomosidi said the scenarios carried out in the simulation included handling initial fires, evacuating users trapped in the elevator, and handling the B3 waste spill.
"The three scenarios were chosen because they represent the type of emergency that requires a quick response, cross-function coordination, and proper operation of safety devices," he said.
Purnomosidi said, safety support facilities at stations are part of the training materials, including Light Fire Extinguishing Equipment (APAR), hydrant, sprinkler, first aid box, fire alarm, emergency button, evacuation lines, interkom, emergency telephone, HT communication devices, as well as CCTV monitoring systems and smoke and hot detectors.

Furthermore, Purnomosidi said this test was carried out to ensure all devices were functioning according to standards and ready to operate in an emergency.
"Simulation like this is not only a matter of testing the officer's response, but also ensuring that all safety support devices are in optimal condition," said Purnomosidi.
KAI views tiered training as an important part in maintaining operational reliability and building a sustainable safety culture.
"Especially for Harjamukti Station, simulations on November 28 to 29, will be carried out with the Directorate General of Railways, Transportation Service, and the DKI Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service and Depok City to ensure that the joint response mechanism can be carried out effectively when dealing with emergency situations," he said.
