The Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Ensures That The Elpiji Regulation Is 3 Kg One Priced This Year

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) plans to change the 3 kilograms of LPG (kg) distribution scheme and will implement a one-price policy.

Director General of Oil and Gas (Migas) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Laode Sulaeman said the legal umbrella for this new regulation is being accelerated through accelerating the revision of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 104 of 2007 and Presidential Decree Number 38 of 2019 regarding the provision, distribution and determination of the price of 3 kg LPG.

"Anyway, this year has to be finished, either this month, or the end of the month, basically this year," said Laode, quoted on Tuesday, November 11.

He explained that the purpose of changing this rule was to make the distribution of these commodities more targeted. He added that after being revised, the distribution of 3 kg LPG, which was previously only the spai of the naman base, was changed to a sub base.

"In the current regulations, we have not arranged it until the sub base. Now that must be immediately the rules. Now we are finalizing it," he said.

Laode further also said that the revision of this rule would also regulate the application of one kg of LPG at a price. However, Laode did not want to reveal the price benchmark that would be used as a standard.

"To go there, one price," he said.

Laode also ensured that the implementation of this one-price LPG would be carried out in stages in order to provide space for socialization and adaptation for the community.

"Later, when it has been implemented, there will be a defense. So it's not like yesterday throughout Indonesia. Now that's a lesson for us too. So we have a decision, maybe first Jabodetabek or Jakarta," said Laode.
