Prabowo expressed his gratitude for being able to attend with the community at one of the transportation and historic trade centers in the capital.
He called his presence at the inauguration an honor and pride in itself.
Prior to the inauguration ceremony, Prabowo had tried out the trip using KRL from Manggarai Station to Tanah Abang Baru and admitted that he was very impressed with the experience, as well as remembering his youth.
"Just now I took the train from Manggarai, I was very impressed. Because when I was young I was taking the train all the time. I'm the person who likes trains the most," he said.
According to him, trains and other mass transportation systems are important and strategic parts of modern society's lives.
He added, based on the reports he received, every year around 486 million passengers use train services in Indonesia.
"The train and all mass transit mass transportation of the system are part of the lives of modern people who are very, very strategic and very vital Indonesian trains with all their systems reported to me carrying passengers 1 year 486 million passengers on our rail system," he explained.
He also said that the government he leads will focus on dealing with the rail system.
