Boss Pupuk Indonesia Pede Fills Subsidized Fertilizer Until The End Of The Year

JAKARTA - President Director of PT Pupuk Indonesia/PI (Persero) Rahmad Pribadi is optimistic that he can meet the needs of subsidized fertilizers by the end of the year.

"The stock is safe, we have a stock now of 1.5 million tons, 1.1 (million tons) is subsidized fertilizer. So we are quite safe because our production continues every day. In this Pupuk, East Kalimantan alone, every day there are 10 thousand tons of urea and 1 thousand tons of NPK are produced every day," he said, quoting Antara.

On this occasion, his party inaugurated the delivery of 4,556 tons of subsidized urea fertilizer shipments to Sumbawa.

He explained that during October-December, it indicates that the planting season has entered, so fertilizer is needed, especially for the food sector.

Rahmad emphasized that currently his party must be on standby from the production sector which must run well, ensuring that fertilizer stocks are available in all places, to the smooth delivery of fertilizer products to warehouses in various regions.

Until now, the realization of subsidized fertilizer that has been achieved by PT PI is around 6.5 million tons, and will reach 8.5-8.7 million tons by the end of the year. This means that in the next month, more than two million tons must be sent to farmers.

"Therefore, we carry out a symbolic release of the delivery of subsidized fertilizers. This time to Sumbawa, we are in Pupuk, East Kalimantan," said Rahmad.

The delivery of this subsidized fertilizer was first released at the highest retail price (HET) recently, after Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto decided to provide a 20 percent discount on urea fertilizer from Rp2,250 to Rp1,800, and NPK fertilizer from Rp2,300 to Rp1,840.

The distribution rules used to be contagious because they had to involve many ministries, he continued, are now simplified so that it is easier to send fertilizers.

"I think it's a very pro-farm and pro-people form of affection for our President," he said.
