JAKARTA - Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Maman Abdurrahman said that as many as 11 million workers were absorbed thanks to the distribution of People's Business Credit (KUR) for MSMEs until October 2025.

"Distribution of IDR 220 trillion KUR from January to October 2025 has absorbed approximately 11 million workers," said Maman, quoted on Wednesday, October 29.

Maman explained, until October 23, 2025, the Ministry of MSMEs had distributed KUR of IDR 220 trillion from the budget ceiling of IDR 300 trillion to more than 3.75 million debtors. This program is prioritized for MSMEs in the productive sector to produce a larger economic impact.

Referring to research by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), every KUR recipient entrepreneur employs two to three workers on average. Thus, as many as 3.75 million KUR debtors this year have provided jobs for around 11 million workers.

Until October 23, the realization of KUR to the production sector has reached 60.7 percent, the highest in Indonesia's history. We are optimistic that this figure will reach 61 62 percent by the end of December 2025," said Maman.

As a further step to strengthen the competitiveness of MSMEs, Maman emphasized that the Ministry of MSMEs will soon launch the SAPA MSME platform and Business Cards. SAPA MSMEs are designed as an integrated platform that connects various programs of ease, protection, and empowerment of MSMEs, both from the government and non-government.

Through SAPA UMKM, registered entrepreneurs will receive Business Cards, which allow them to receive various facilities and incentives to strengthen their business and increase productivity.

In addition, the Ministry of MSMEs also carries out the Micro Business Ease and Protection Festival, which is a forum for cross-employment collaboration in providing legality and certification to micro entrepreneurs.

On the other hand, the government continues to encourage the allocation of 30 percent of public infrastructure as a commercial area for MSMEs. To date, as many as 392 public infrastructure units including airports, terminals, ports, and stations have been occupied by around 6,400 MSMEs.

On the same occasion, the Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar expressed his full support for the strategic steps of the Ministry of MSMEs to increase community productivity.

Cak Imin emphasized that every ministry, state institution, and local government need to play an active role in designing programs that encourage employment and open up growth space for MSMEs.

This step, he said, is an important part of the government's efforts to eliminate extreme poverty by 2026 and reduce the poverty rate to 5 percent by 2029.

"Indonesia must stand on its own feet, relying on its ability and independence so that a productive and independent society can be realized," said Muhaimin.
