Danantara Boss Regarding Substitution Of Garuda President Director: Strengthening Management

JAKARTA - CEO of Danantara Indonesia Rosan Roeslani spoke about the replacement of the President Director of Garuda Indonesia. He emphasized that the replacement was carried out as a step to strengthen management so that the state-owned company could carry out business plans more effectively.

"For us, this is just a strengthening of the existing management," he said when met in South Jakarta, Thursday, October 16.

Moreover, said Rosan, Danantara has invested not a small amount of funds in the company, reaching 400 million US dollars.

"Again, what I said earlier, we put in not a small amount of funds. We want to make sure the team we put in strengthens, further strengthens the future of policy, from its missions and plans," he said.

"Because the plan must be there and good, yes, but the key is how the implementation and plan can be implemented," he continued.

Previously, it was reported that the State-Owned Enterprises (BP) and Danantara appointed Retired TNI, Glenny Kairupan as President Director of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (GIAA). The position was previously occupied by the Deputy Minister of Tsani Panjaitan who served for 11 months, starting from November 15, 2024.

The replacement was decided at the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk which was held at the Garuda Management Building Auditorium, Cengkareng, today, Wednesday, October 15.

"In the 2025 EGMS, the shareholders officially approved the appointment of Glenny H. Kairupan as the new President Director of Garuda Indonesia, and honorably dismissed Military Commander Tsani," the management wrote in an official statement, Wednesday, October 15.

Apart from the President Director, shareholders also appointed a number of new figures in the Board of Directors, namely Thomas Sugiarto Oentoro as Deputy President Director (Wadirut); Balagopal Kunduvura as Director of Finance and Risk Management; and Neil Raymond Nills as Director of Transformation.

At the Board of Commissioners, shareholders appointed Frans Dicky Tamara as commissioner.
