Applicants For Internships With UMP Salary Reaches 200,000 People

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto revealed that the number of applicants for internship programs with salaries equivalent to the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) has exceeded 200,000 people.

"We see that more than 200,000 (people) have registered," said Airlangga in 1 Year of the Prabowo-Gibran Government, Thursday, October 16.

He also said that until now there are around 1,600 companies that have registered as partners in this program on the demand side.

"The number of companies participating for demand side is 1,600 companies," he added.

Meanwhile, the government only opened an initial quota of 20,000 interns for the first phase and this program was aimed specifically at new graduates who had not yet worked, with a maximum requirement one year after graduation.

Airlangga explained that this internship program is part of the 8+4+5 policy scheme that the government announced on Monday, September 15.

Dia menambahkan, peluncuran resmi program magang bergaji UMP ini akan dilakukan pada 20 Oktober 2025.

"Program ini (magang bergaji UMP) akan terus dilanjutkan untuk November (2025), Bapak Presiden (Prabowo) menambahkan untuk 80 ribu (peserta magang). Jadi, tahun ini kita akan siapkan untuk 100.000 (orang)," jelasnya.

He added that the official launch of the UMP salary internship program will be carried out on October 20, 2025.

"This program (the middleman with the UMP salary) will continue for November (2025), the President (Prabowo) added 80 thousand (internants). So, this year we will prepare for 100,000 (people)," he explained.
