Minister Of Manpower Yassierli: The Green Transition Is The Momentum Of The Labor Transformation

JAKARTA - Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Yassierli emphasized that the transition to a green economy is an important momentum to carry out national labor transformation.

Yassierli assessed that the green transition is not only an environmental agenda, but also a great opportunity to create decent jobs, strengthen labor competence, and build an inclusive and sustainable economy.

The green transition will only be successful if our workforce is ready to adapt to change. We make sure every worker has the opportunity to improve his skills and actively participate in the green economy sector," Yassierli said as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, October 12.

Furthermore, Yassierli added, the success of the green transition is very dependent on the readiness of human resources (HR).

Therefore, the Ministry of Manpower continues to accelerate the implementation of the program to improve labor competence through upskilling and reskilling which is focused on developing green skills.

In strengthening the green training ecosystem, the Ministry of Manpower also expands collaboration with the business world, universities, and international organizations.

Through this collaboration, green training is expected to reach more regions and accelerate the transformation of the Job Training Center (BLK) to become an adaptive training center for future industrial needs.

"The transformation of BLK is a strategic step to prepare the workforce to deal with changes in economic structure. Through green training, we want to create strong, competent, and competitive human resources in sustainable development," said Yassierli.

Selain itu, ia menekankan transisi menuju ekonomi hijau harus berpusat pada manusia, memastikan setiap pekerja terlindungi dan tidak ada yang tertinggal dalam proses perubahan ini.

“Transisi hijau bukan semata agenda lingkungan, melainkan bagian dari strategi nasional untuk menciptakan pekerjaan berkualitas, memperkuat ketahanan ekonomi dan mewujudkan masa depan Indonesia yang lebih berkelanjutan,” ujar dia.

In addition, he stressed that the transition to a green economy must be human-centered, ensuring that every worker is protected and nothing is left behind in this process of change.

"The green transition is not just an environmental agenda, but part of a national strategy to create quality work, strengthen economic resilience and create a more sustainable future for Indonesia," he said.
