JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of East Java Emil Dardak revealed the development of the Surabaya Regional Rail Link (SRLL) construction project aka the Electric Rail Train or KRL Surabaya.

Emil explained that the construction was carried out to increase the capacity of the main rail network in the Kertasusila or Gresik, Bangkalan, Mojokerto, Surabaya, Sidoarjo and Lamongan gates.

"So one of the backbones, the backbone (which supports the Paperusila Gate Area) is the increase in the capacity of the main train network at the heart of the cities of Surabaya, Sidoarjo and Gresik," Emil said when met after attending The 54th EAROPH Regional Conference 2025 event entitled "Transforming Urban Landscapes: Driving Progress, Innovation and Sustainability for Global Futures" at the Cikini Hotel, Jakarta, Monday, October 6.
