Bahlil's Response To The 3 Kg LPG Original Price, Minister Of Finance Purbaya: Maybe A Way To See The Different Data

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Purbaya Yudhi Sadive opened his voice regarding the statement by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia, who stated that he had read the original price of 3 kilograms (kg) of LPG.

Purbaya revealed that he was reviewing the data again, and admitted that the numbers used came from the calculation of his employees.

"I'm studying it, we'll learn it again. Maybe Mr. Bahlil is right, but we'll see what it looks like later. What is clear is that I got the numbers from my staff calculations, we'll see how wrong the understanding is, but in the end the numbers are the same," he told the media crew, Friday, October 3.

According to Purbaya, the difference may be caused by a different perspective between the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources on the data.

"Mistake of data? Maybe the way to view the data is different. Calculations sometimes from practice, with accountants sometimes have different ways," he explained

He is optimistic that in the end the numbers used will remain the same.

"But I'm sure in the end the amount is the same. That's all, if you count the wrong money, I can add the wrong money and keep counting it so that the money will increase. But it should be the same in the end," he said.

Previously, based on data submitted by Purbaya, the original price of 3 kg LPG was IDR 42,750 per cylinder. The government has been carrying a subsidy of IDR 30,000 per cylinder, so people only need to pay IDR 12,750 per 3 kg LPG gas cylinder.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia responded to the statement of the Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadive regarding the price of 3 kg LPG after being subsidized at Rp. 12,750 per tube.

Bahlil assessed that Purbaya read the wrong data from his subordinates at the Ministry of Finance. Moreover, he continued, as the new Minister of Finance, Purbaya was still making a number of adjustments.

"It might be that the Minister of Finance read the data wrongly. It's normal if, yes, maybe it needs adjustment. I can't respond to something that's always like this," Bahlil told the media crew when met at the BPH Migas Office, Thursday, October 2.

According to him, currently the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is still maturating 3 kg LPG subsidies for 2026.

"Maybe the Minister of Finance has not been given input by his director-general properly or by his team. So maybe the Minister, Minister of Finance, yes, maybe he hasn't read the data that time, right," continued Bahlil.

Guna mematangkan rencana tersebut, Bahlil menggandeng Badan Pusat Statistik untuk memanfaatkan Data Tunggal Sosial dan Ekonomi Nasional (DTSEN) demi menyaring masyarakat yang berhak menggunakan elpiji subsidi 3 kg.

"BPS itu kan kerja sama dengan tim di ESDM," tandas Bahlil.

In order to finalize the plan, Bahlil collaborated with the Central Statistics Agency to utilize the National Sole Social and Economic Data (DTSEN) to screen people who are entitled to use 3 kg subsidy LPG.

"BPS is a collaboration with the team at ESDM," said Bahlil.
