JAKARTA - Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Maman Abdurrahman emphasized the importance of accelerating the disbursement of funds in digital transactions for MSME actors and the process should take place in just a few hours.

According to him, disbursement of funds that can be done in a matter of hours will greatly help smooth the circulation of MSME capital, especially micro-enterprises that depend on daily cash flow.

"I hope that in the future the disbursement process can be even shorter, even in just 2'3 hours," said Maman as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, October 2.

He revealed that so far many MSME actors are reluctant to use a non-cash payment system because disbursement of funds takes 1.2 days.

In fact, continued Maman, this time lag could be a serious obstacle for businesses that require fast capital for daily operations.

Maman appreciated the presence of services such as Batpay which offered the disbursement of funds on the same day or the same day payment as a solution.

He considered this innovation as a concrete step towards a more equitable and efficient financial inclusion.

Furthermore, Maman emphasized the importance of building a digital ecosystem that is responsive to the needs of MSMEs ranging from local market, social media, to financial service applications, all must be integrated and easily accessible to business actors.

He also encourages the use of technology such as artificial intelligence (AI) and big data to assist MSMEs in branding strategies, analysis of consumer trends, and market development.

"The Ministry of MSMEs will continue to encourage more business actors to enter the digital ecosystem," he said.
