JAKARTA - The Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming / Investment Coordinating Agency (BKPM) said the demand for green materials could reach 4.5 times by 2030.
This was conveyed by the Deputy for Investment Promotion of the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM Nurul Ichwan at the Indonesia Green Mineral Investment Forum (IGMIF) 2025 event in Jakarta, Thursday, October 2.
"The world is expected to experience significant growth in terms of demand for green materials. We can see that from 2024 to 2030 it can reach 4.5 times the demand for these green materials," said Nurul.
According to Nurul, the high demand must be utilized by Indonesia as a country with its natural resources.
"This request is certainly part of the global ecosystem or global supply chain that Indonesia must be a part of. Because Indonesia is always the top 10 of natural resources. We will be part of supply for the ecosystem of our mineral-based industry," he said.

Therefore, said Nurul, Indonesia needs to take into account that the products produced in the future have implemented sustainable and green principles.
"We have to take into account the products produced tend to be (green). The process starts from mining, even to semi-finished goods and finished goods that become green products," he concluded.
