BPS Announces September Capai Inflation 0.21 Percent

JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency reported that inflation in September 2025 reached 0.21 percent if it was inflated with August 2025. BPS recorded an increase in the consumer price index or IHK from the previous 108.51 in August 2025 to 108.74 in September 2025.

"Inflation is 0.21 percent month to month or monthly," said Deputy for Production Statistics M Habibullah in an online press conference, Wednesday, October 1.

On an annual basis, he said, inflation was recorded at 2.65 percent and inflation for the calendar year or ytd was recorded at 1.82 percent.

The largest monthly inflation contributor expenditure group was food, beverages, and tobacco with inflation of 0.38 percent, and contributed 0.11 percent of inflation.

Habibullah detailed that the dominant commodities driving inflation in this group were red chilies, and broiler meat which contributed to inflation by 0.13 each.

The commodity that also contributes to inflation is gold jewelery with a share of 0.08 percent inflation.

Selanjutnya, sigaret kretek mesin (SKM), biaya kuliah akademi/perguruan tinggi, cabai hijau dan sigaret kretek tangan (SKT) menyumbang andil inflasi masing-masing sebesar 0,01 persen.

Selain itu terdapat komoditas yang masih memberikan andil deflasi pada September 2025 yaitu komoditas bawang merah dengan andil deflasi 0,13 persen, komoditas tomat dengan andil deflasi 0,03 persen dan beberapa komoditas seperti bawang putih, cabai rawit, beras, timun dan biaya sekolah menegah atas dengan andil deflasi masing-masing sebesar 0,01 persen.

Furthermore, machine kretek cigarettes (SKM), academy / tertiary tuition fees, green chilies and hand-kretek cigarettes (SKT) contributed 0.01 percent of inflation each.

In addition, there are commodities that still contributed to deflation in September 2025, namely shallot commodities with a deflation of 0.13 percent, tomato commodities with a deflation of 0.03 percent and several commodities such as garlic, cayenne pepper, rice, cucumber and high school fees with a deflation of 0.01 percent each.
