Purbaya Ultimatum Tax Arrears Rp60 Trillion: Payment Or Difficulty Living Here

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Purbaya Yudhi Sadiveh gave an ultimatum of 200 large tax arrears that withheld obligations of up to IDR 60 trillion.

He ensured that all arrears would be forced into the state treasury this year too.

"Yesterday I said, those who don't pay taxes are Rp. 60 trillion, right, the 200 largest taxpayers (taxpayers) who have signed. I will force them to pay within a week," he told reporters when met at the DPR Building, Jakarta, Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday, September 23.

Purbaya emphasized that the government will no longer provide space for taxpayers who continue to postpone their obligations.

Therefore, he said, if the debt is not repaid immediately, the consequences will make their lives difficult in Indonesia.

Furthermore, Purbaya also believes that the tax arrears of Rp. 60 trillion will enter fully this year.

"It must have entered (payment of tax arrears to the state. Otherwise, it would be difficult for him to live here," he said.

Purbaya emphasized that this policy will not harm obedient taxpayers. They will certainly be safe and will not be disturbed by the tax authorities.

"We are doing fair treatment. If you have paid taxes, don't be bothered at all. And there is no more stories from tax employees, thanking them. Later I will open a special channel for complaints about the problem," he said.
