PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) signed a gas sale and purchase agreement with PT Imbang Tata Alam (ITA) as operator of the Malacca Strait Working Area which is part of PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk (EMP) in Bali on Friday 19 September 2025.

The signing was carried out by the President Director of Pertagas, Indra Sembiring and the Director of ITA, Kelik Rudi Suharya.

Through this collaboration, Pertagas will distribute natural gas through the Koto - Gasib Pusaka pipeline, which is currently operated by Pertagas, to meet the energy needs of the ITA according to the agreement.

Pertagas President Director Indra Sembiring said this collaboration was one of the proud moments in the company's collaborative journey, especially in supporting joint efforts to realize national energy lifting and national energy self-sufficiency.

"Pertagas, as an energy infrastructure company, is always committed to providing the best service to support the smooth operation of ITA. More than that, Pertagas is also ready to play an active role in supporting the development of the ITA business in the future," said Indra Sembiring, Tuesday, September 23.

Indra added that the collaboration with ITA is expected to support strengthening national energy resilience as launched by the Government as well as encouraging domestic industrial growth.

"Our great hope is that this synergy can continue to grow, develop, and provide sustainable benefits for both parties, as well as contribute significantly to national energy resilience and sovereignty," explained Indra.

Director of ITA, Kelik Rudi Suharya, said that the synergistic steps between the upstream (ITA) and midstream (Pertagas) sectors are a tangible manifestation of collaboration in providing efficiency as well as supporting reducing carbon emissions through the use of natural gas.

"The use of natural gas as a low-emission transition energy in the implementation of ITA operations is a form of the company's contribution in supporting emission reduction (Green Emission)," said Kelik.

Kelik also hopes that this project can be broadcast soon so that the benefits can be directly felt, both for operational smoothness and for national energy sustainability.
