JAKARTA - As of the end of August 2025, the government has issued a retail state securities (SBN) worth IDR 103 trillion. This figure has reached 69.59 percent of the target for issuing this year's retail SBN which is set at IDR 148 trillion.
The Director General of Financing and Risk Management (DJPPR) of the Ministry of Finance, Suminto, stated that retail investors' interest in SBN continues to increase every year.
He explained that in 2020, the value of retail SBN is recorded at IDR 77 trillion, increasing to IDR 98 trillion in 2021. This trend will continue in 2022 with a realization of IDR 107 trillion, then a significant increase to IDR 148 trillion in 2023, and a slight increase to IDR 149 trillion in 2024.
"The interest of retail investors has increased so that this is part of the deepening of the domestic market," said Suminto during a working meeting with Commission XI of the DPR, Thursday, September 11.
He said that the number of retail SBN investors also showed an upward trend, from 543,220 in 2020 to 916,574 in 2024, and increased again to 991,825 investors in 2025.
Suminto added that the government continues to innovate in the issuance of SBN instruments, including presenting special or thematic themed SBNs and there are already eight types of SBN instruments that have been issued.
The instruments include Green Sukuk (global and domestic), Cash Waqf Linked Sukuk (CWLS and Retail CWLS), Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Bond (global and domestic), Samurai Blue Bond, Retail SUN SDG, and Kangaroo Bond which are the latest and published products in 2025.
