JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Kartika Wirjoatmodjo revealed that the application of state bank sets (Himbara) gets cyber attacks every day. Therefore, according to him, cybersecurity in application development is very important.

The man who is familiarly called Tiko said applications such as Byond, owned by Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), Livin owned by Bank Mandiri, to BRImo owned by Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) received thousands of cyber attacks every day.

"Various existing banking applications, and maybe ladies and gentlemen using them such as Livin, BRImo, Byond, all of them are probably up to hundreds of thousands of ATTEMPTS (cyber attack trials) every day," he said at the Digital Resilience Summit 2025 event, at the Peruri Office, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 10.

Tiko said cyber attacks target various sectors. Starting from health, energy, banking to government. These various attacks, said Tiko, can interfere with the reputation of an institution.

"We are following developments in ransomware attacks on governments, hospitals, phishing attacks, creating stuffing in digital banking services, so that disruptions to institutional and corporate sites that have the potential to pose reputational and financial risks as well," he explained.

Therefore, said Tiko, this risk must be immediately protected by a strong system. This includes strengthening human resources (HR) to build its digital ecosystem.

Tiko also said that the development of application-based services must be accompanied by preparations for the threat of cyber attacks.

"So it's not after the service is delivered that we think about its safety. But together when building an application, it has been built attached and integrated into the development process of the application," said Tiko.
