JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy / Head of Tourism and Creative Economy Agency Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said it will strengthen coordination with local governments and ensure while monitoring tourist destinations apply strict health protocols and discipline during the Eid holidays.

"Monitoring the readiness of tourist destinations in each of our local areas continues to coordinate," he said in a written statement on Tuesday, May 11.

As is known, lebaran this year the government decided to ban homecoming to suppress the spread of COVID-19. But for local tourist activities, it is still allowed with a record of keeping an eye on the existing data.

"As in DKI Jakarta which has issued policies for tourist destinations that are open, its capacity is limited to a maximum of 30 percent with strict health protocols and discipline," he said.

"We will coordinate and also conduct monitoring. Like tomorrow I will visit Ancol and several other destinations so that they apply strict health protocols (prokes), "he continued.

Furthermore, Sandiaga hopes that this strict health protocol can be maintained so that creative economic destinations and centers do not trigger new clusters. "So back to ourselves. The government will monitor, will also coordinate with the COVID-19 Task Force," he said.

"But back again to the community itself that must be aware. Vigilance must be increased and the public can also supervise," he said.

Regarding the travel corridor arrangement, Sandiaga said preparations are continuing while monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic situation in Batam and Bintan as well as the Bali zone. The Ministry of Parliament also actively coordinates intensively across K/L and conducts monitoring and evaluation with local government elements in the three zones.

"All issues are mapped in detail, which is the authority of the K/L and local government to be resolved as a form of supply and diplomacy aspects with the market-focused countries as an aspect of demand," he explained.
