JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) through PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional will expand the production of environmentally friendly energy, to Refinery Unit (RU) II Dumai and RU VI Balongan.
RU IV Cilacap is currently the only refinery producing Pertamina SAF made from crude oil or Used Cooking Oil (UCO).
Pertamina International Refinery Operations Director Didik Bahagia said SAF is one of the leading products of the Cilacap Refinery.
The reason is, the innovation of SAF is the result of the synergy between Pertamina Group, starting with Pertamina as a holding and subholding such as Pertamina International Refinery, Patra Niaga, and Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia.
As well as Pelita Air, which has made its inaugural flight with the consumption of fuel from jelantah oil.

Previously in July 2025, RU Cilacap succeeded in producing the initial SAF made from UCO and conducting an inaugural flight with Pelita Air on August 20, 2025.
SAF uses UCO to develop its first environmentally friendly aviation fuel in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, which meets the international standard of DefStan 91-091.
