Pertamina And Pindad Launch First Ultrasonic Oil Pipe Inspection Technology In Indonesia

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) in collaboration with PT Pindad officially launched the first ultrasonic oil and gas pipeline inspection technology in Indonesia. The technology, which is named ILI UT (In-Line Inspection Intelligence Pigging Ultrasonic Tool) is an intelligent logging device with ultrasonic technology to carry out precise internal oil and gas pipeline inspections.

Pertamina's President Director, Simon Aloysius Mantiri, emphasized that the presence of this technology shows the strength of the collaboration of the nation's children. Not only that, this launch is clear evidence of collaboration that has been successfully realized, not just a discourse.

"Pertamina is proud to be able to innovate with the nation's best sons, including Pindad, which has given birth to proud works. The resulting technology and innovation reflect the spirit of filling independence with sustainable development. Pertamina invites all parties 'industry, academics, and society' to unite in the big step towards an advanced and energy sovereign Indonesia," Simon said as quoted on Wednesday, August 20.

President Director of PT Pindad, Sigit P Santosa, called this collaboration a clear proof of the synergy between SOEs that has succeeded in producing world-class products. According to him, this collaboration is an important milestone that proves that the synergy of SOEs does not only stop at the MoU, but actually produces products. Pindad is committed to supporting Pertamina and Elnusa to be independent of foreign technology, with the hope that this collaboration will continue to produce more innovation, not stop at one product.

"This synergy is a clear proof of the joint struggle for national energy and defense resilience," he explained.

Support also came from the President Director of PT Elnusa Tbk, Bahtiar Soeria Atmadja, who emphasized the importance of this innovation for the nation's independence. This launch, he said, was an important milestone in Indonesia's independence of oil and gas technology.

"This innovation supports the Domestic Component Level (TKDN), strengthens national energy security, and shows strategic collaboration between industry, government, and the nation's children. Through this innovation, Pertamina Group is committed to continuing to develop domestic technology in order to achieve energy independence and increase global trust in Indonesia's engineering capabilities," he said.
