Prabowo's Regulation To The Minister Of PKP: Build 2,200 Houses In Papua Mountains

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto ordered the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) to build 2,200 houses in Papua Mountains.

PKP Minister Maruarar Sirait (Ara) conveyed this when he directly inspected the location of the plan to build a house in Sinakma, Wamena Kota District, Jayawijaya Regency, Papua Mountains, Tuesday, August 12.

The review was carried out with the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian.

"Mr. President called me, he said he was with the Governor of Papua Province in the Mountains and ordered me to build 2,000 houses for the Papuan people of the Mountains and also 200 houses for the Tribal Chief," said Ara as quoted from his written statement, Wednesday, August 13.

Based on the information he got from Tito, Ara said, there has never been the construction of such many houses in mountainous Papua.

According to Ara, the construction of houses in Papua Mountains will be carried out soon and can be completed soon.

"Benar dan cepat. Tentu benar harus sesuai dengan aturan, benar sesuai kebutuhan masyarakat, benar sesuai kultur budaya yang ada di masyarakat dan tepat sasaran. Untuk itu, semuanya perlu persiapan," kata dia.

Ara admitted that he had assigned three directors generals (dirjen) at the Ministry of PKP to carry out field surveys.

They are the Director General of the Fitrah Nur Settlement Area, the Director General of Rural Housing Imran and the Director General of Risk Management and Control Aziz Andriansyah.

"I told you earlier, how the budgets that arrived here can be maintained properly, can be used properly, can be right on target, the quality can be good," explained Ara.

"Of course this requires cooperation from all parties and how it can benefit the people," he concluded.
