JAKARTA - Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi carried out ramp inspections or airworthiness inspections on a number of aircraft at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. The goal is to ensure all aspects have met the standards.

This inspection was carried out on Sunday, August 3, along with inspectors from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation. A number of aircraft that were inspected belonged to the airline PT Garuda Indonesia, PT Super Air Jet, PT Batik Air, and PT Citilink Indonesia.

"We carry out direct checks on the physical and engine of the aircraft, pilots, personnel, and complete flight documents. We want to ensure that all aspects meet the established standards," said Dudy in an official statement, Monday, August 4.

Dudy asked all airlines to comply with applicable regulations, including in terms of using aircraft components where all must comply with the standards set by the factory and government.

Meanwhile, continued Dudy, if things are found that do not comply with the provisions of the ramp inspection activity, the inspectors will prohibit the aircraft from flying.

"The Ministry of Transportation is not playing games on aspects of aviation security and safety. Therefore, I ordered the ranks of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation to conduct a periodic ramp inspection and according to Standard Operating Procedures," he said.

Dudy also admitted that he had instructed his staff to continue to coordinate with all stakeholders, such as airlines, airport managers, Airnav, BMKG, the Police, and the TNI, to ensure the smooth and security of domestic flights.

"We really hope that collaboration and coordination can create safe, comfortable, and smooth air travel," he said.

After conducting a ramp inspection, Dudy also reviewed Terminal 1C of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, which is currently in the revitalization process. He said the terminal construction went smoothly and according to plan.

The 1C Terminal revitalization process has so far shown encouraging results. I hope this terminal can be operated in a partial manner to improve services for users of flight services," said Dudy.

The revitalization of Terminal 1C of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. This terminal will be used by several airlines, such as Citilink and Batik Air.
