Customer J Trust Bank Plants 2,000 Mangroves Via ToRA Green Savings Deposit Program

JAKARTA J Trust Bank Bersama dengan Nasabah TORA Green Savings kembali melanjutkan komitmen nyambangnya dalam mendukung pengesapan ekosistem pesisir Indonesia.

A total of 2,000 mangrove trees were successfully planted on Harapan Island, Thousand Islands, DKI Jakarta on July 24, 2025.

This mangrove planting is in commemoration of World Mangrove Day which falls every July 26.

This activity is a tangible manifestation of the contribution of customers through donations raised from the TORA Green Savings program funds.

This planting is carried out in collaboration with CarbonEthics as the implementing partner. The mangrove planted is a type of Rhinopora stylosa, with an estimated carbon absorption potential of 66,000 kg of CO2e over 20 years.

Planting is carried out on Harapan Island, Seribu Islands (coordinate points 5°39'15.3"S 106°34'29.1"E), one of the strategic areas of the blue ecosystem restoration program. In addition to acting as a natural habitat for rare species such as sea turtles, this area is also an educational tourism location about climate change.

President Director of Ritsuo Fukadai explained, TORA Green Savings is a J Trust Bank savings product that invites customers to set aside some savings interest to contribute to environmental conservation efforts.

Donations collected from customer savings are used to fund mangrove planting activities.

The bigger the savings customer, the wider the restoration of mangroves and coasts that can be created together. This mangrove planting is the second planting for J Trust Bank and Tora Green Savings customers
