Inter-National QRIS Transactions In Livin' By Mandiri Grow Threefold

Bank Mandiri continues to strengthen its commitment to providing financial solutions that are inclusive to the community. Ahead of the commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, the company recorded significant growth in foreign transaction services through the QRIS Inter-State feature in the Livin' by Mandiri application. It was recorded that during the first five months of 2025, the number of transactions increased more than three times, with a total of 141,802 transactions and a value of Rp49.16 billion.

Bank Mandiri Corporate Secretary M. Ashidiq Iswara explained that this increase is a positive indicator of increasing public preferences for digital payment channels that are safe, fast, and efficient when traveling abroad. This increase also strengthens Livin' by Mandiri's position as a financial application capable of responding to customers' needs for technology-based banking services in the era of global mobility.

"The significant increase in inter-state QRIS transactions reflects the acceleration of digitalization of Bank Mandiri services, which focuses on providing convenience and comfort for customers when they are abroad," said Ossy, Ashidiq's nickname in his official statement, quoted Friday, July 25.

Furthermore, the bank coded BMRI issuer explained that it is also committed to providing practical and integrated cross-border banking services, such as inter-state QRIS and multicurrency features, which are now increasingly in demand by customers.

In line with the trend of cross-border transactions, Livin' by Mandiri also recorded a fairly high growth in opening multicurrency accounts. As of May 2025, more than 35,500 multicurrency accounts have been opened through Livin', with the three most selected currencies, namely the United States (USD) dollar, Ringgit Malaysia (MYR), and Yen Japan (JPY).

Through this feature, customers can connect their multicurrency accounts to Mandiri Debit Visa, so that transactions abroad can be carried out within local currencies without being charged with conversion fees. This provides higher flexibility and efficiency, both for personal travel, business, and education needs.

As for now, QRIS Between Countries in Livin' can already be used in Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. In the near future, this feature will also be extended to Japan, China, and South Korea, which are targeted to launch in August 2025.

As an alternative to foreign transactions, Livin' by Mandiri also offers other conveniences, such as the Tap to Pay feature available to Android phone users with NFC technology. Customers simply attach their phone to a payment machine that supports the Visa or MasterCard network to complete the transaction.
