JAKARTA - Head of the Halal Product Guarantee Administration (BPJPH) Ahmad Haikal Hasan proposed an additional IDR 2.1 trillion for 2026.
This was conveyed by Haikal during a Working Meeting (Raker) with Commission VIII of the DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, July 14.
"In total, the proposed additional budget (2026) is IDR 2.1 trillion," said Haikal.
Haikal detailed the additional allocation of the budget. First, for the implementation of registration and halal certification activities worth Rp. 829 billion. "It is intended for halal certification to 3.5 million micro and small enterprises (UMK)," he said.
Second, for the development and supervision of the guarantee of halal products amounting to Rp40 billion. According to Haikal, his party felt that the allocation was because it was not only intended for food and beverage products, but for textile, medicinal, and cosmetic sub-sectors.
"In terms of food and beverage (products), we think it has started to finish, but next, the textiles, medicines, cosmetics are really a hug that will become very big later," said Haikal.
"Even bigger than food and drinks, why is it bigger? Because of the 66 million entrepreneurs, culinary is only 20 percent or 1.8 to 2 million, the rest are non-culinary," he continued.
Meanwhile, for the field of partnership and halal standardization, a budget of IDR 39 billion is needed. "The collaboration of national and international level cooperation in the implementation of Indonesia's halal standards has not been maximized, it has never been done except yesterday and it is at the cost of sponsorship," he explained.
Finally, a budget of IDR 1.2 trillion is needed for personnel spending, vehicle procurement, and the development of the 'Halal' application.
According to Haikal, the application is still often error because its national data center has shared with other partnerships.
"That (budget) is the largest IDR 1.2 trillion. The cloud server is our storage, namely, only 15 terabytes (TB). We do not yet have data on recovery centers and operational units for halal provincial tasks and the development of facilities, so that the total proposed additional budget is IDR 2.1 trillion," he concluded.
