Minister Of Transportation Dudy Asks For Additional Budget To Be IDR 37.66 Trillion For 2026

Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi asked for a budget of Rp13.25 for 2026.

The indicative ceiling set for the Ministry of Transportation is IDR 24.4 trillion, with this addition, the total is IDR 37.66 trillion.

"So, the indicative ceiling now stands at IDR 24.4 trillion. There is a need that we prioritize very much is IDR 37.66 trillion. So there is a shortage of approximately IDR 13.25 trillion. This is what we will ask for additional," said Dudy in a working meeting with Commission V DPR, in Jakarta, quoted Wednesday, July 9.

The Ministry of Transportation's budget indicative ceiling of IDR 24.4 trillion in 2026 was determined based on a joint letter from the Ministry of Finance and the Minister of National Development Planning/Bappenas dated May 15, 2025.

The budget is allocated for personnel expenditure of IDR 4.83 trillion, operational expenditure of IDR 22.46 trillion, and non-operational expenditure of IDR 17.11 trillion.

In terms of funding, the largest composition comes from pure rupiah of IDR 15.62 trillion or 64 percent of the total ceiling.

Meanwhile, in terms of infrastructure programs and transportation connectivity, it is the largest portion with a budget of IDR 12.27 trillion.

According to Dudy, an additional Rp13.25 trillion is needed for research services and fulfillment of security and transportation safety priorities that have not been accommodated in the 2026 indicative ceiling.

"In an effort to ensure the availability of affordable transportation services and ensure transportation safety throughout Indonesia, the Ministry of Transportation proposes an additional budget of IDR 13.25 trillion so that the total ceiling becomes IDR 37.66 trillion," he said.

Dudy said the figure of Rp37.66 trillion was still quite far compared to the need for the Ministry of Transportation ceiling in 2026 which reached Rp44.88 trillion.

"The indicative 2026 ceiling is 49.92 percent of the 2026 demand ceiling of IDR 44.88 trillion," said Dudy.

In fact, continued Dudy, when compared to the 2025 budget ceiling, the indicative ceiling in 2026 decreased by Rp7.05 trillion or 22 percent.

Therefore, Dudy said, the Ministry of Transportation needs an additional budget.
