Minister Of Transportation Orders Search And Rescue For Victims Of KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya To Be Accelerated

Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi instructed the ranks of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) and related stakeholders to speed up the search and rescue process for victims of the accident of the KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya ship.

Even so, Dudy emphasized, the search and rescue of victims must also prioritize safety.

"I am sorry for this incident. Currently, search and rescue operations are still ongoing. I instruct the process to be accelerated, by prioritizing coordination and safety," said Dudy, in Jakarta, Kami, July 3.

For your information, KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya is known to have sailed from Ketapang Port to Gilimanuk Port. Based on reports from officers in the field, the ship sank at 23.35 WIB at coordinates 8 deg 9'32.35 "S 114 deg. 25'6.38" E.

Director General of Sea Transportation Muhammad Masyhud said, based on temporary manifest data, the ship carried 53 passengers, 12 crew members, and 22 vehicles from various groups.

Furthermore, Masyhud said, search and rescue (SAR) operations had been carried out since early morning by the Joint Team from elements of Basarnas, TNI/Polri, Syahbandar, KPLP, ASDP, as well as other related elements under the coordination of the Search and Rescue Office.
