Bank Indonesia Reveals Transactions Reaches More Than IDR 12 Billion At FESyar Sumatra 2025

JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) revealed that until June 24, the transaction value was recorded at more than IDR 12 billion at the 2025 Sumatra Sharia Economic Festival (FESyar).

Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, Destry Damayanti explained that until June 24, 2025, sales during the event reached Rp1.7 billion, commitments to meeting the sales business of Rp3.6 billion and facilitation of financing in synergy with OJK and Asbisindo of Lampung Province Rp7.13 billion.

"This nominal reflects the strong development and potential of the Islamic finance economy (expert) in the Sumatra region," he said in his statement, quoted on Thursday, June 26.

The 2025 Sumatra FESyar series presents innovations that strengthen the development of the halal ecosystem and sharia finance, including the inauguration of 15 Healthy Safe Halal Culinary Zones (KHAS) throughout Sumatra, the development of Muslim-friendly tourist destinations (PRM) in Pahawang and South Lampung, the Waqf Awareness Movement, and the training of 100 Islamic economic literacy ambassadors.

Destry said that Bank Indonesia will continue to act as an Accelerator, Initiator, and Regulator, in the development of Islamic economics and finance.

"The growth that we encourage is expected to be sustainable, bring real benefits, social justice, and blessings to the people," he said.

In 2024, the halal value chain sector will grow to 4 percent (yoy) and support 25 percent of the national economy, and Islamic financial assets will reach IDR 9,927 trillion, or equivalent to 45 percent of Indonesia's GDP.

He hopes that this year with various policy supports from upstream to downstream will be able to support the achievement of sharia economic performance targets in the range of 4.8 percent-5.6 percent in 2025.

According to him, FESyar is BI's real support in synergy with the Government, especially as part of the Asta Cita program.

Destry emphasized that the ex-year has become a National Priority (PN) and has a fairly challenging target to become the first global ex-year ranking with a contribution of 56.11 percent of GDP Syariah in 2029.

"For that, let's strengthen the synergy of optimizing exyar policies in the national policy mix," he said.

In line with that, Deputy Governor of Lampung Province Jihan Nurlela conveyed that the spirit of togetherness and synergy is the key to realizing the latest progress in the Sumatra region.

Jihan appreciated Bank Indonesia's contribution, which is not only in controlling inflation, but has also become a driving force in maintaining economic stability and accelerating inclusive growth in the region.

"On the other hand, collaboration in the development of Islamic economics such as in the implementation of FESyar, including the program to strengthen the value chain, and empower the pesantren economy, also shows how BI plays a role in building regional economic ecosystems based on noble values and spirituality," he said.

Dengan Lampung sebagai salah satu daerah yang memiliki jumlah pesantren terbanyak di Sumatra, Jihan meyakini pertumbuhan eksyar akan semakin meningkat dan memperkuat struktur ekonomi Lampung.

The FESyar Sumatra activity is BI's commitment to supporting the development of inclusive, sustainable exybeans, as well as encouraging economic stability and independence at the regional level by raising the theme Synergy of Sharia Economics and Finance Strengthening Regional Economic Stability and Independence", FESyar comes in response to global economic challenges that require a value-based alternative economic system (valued economy).

Since its opening on Saturday, June 21, 2025, various events have been held, including 2 seminar activities, 12 educational activities, 7 types of sharia competition, 7 types of product/exchange performance, 3 business matching, digital campaign in 2 markets and entertainment.

There are 210 MSMEs involved in FESyar 2025 and the exposure of the Sumatra FESyar in promoting the halal ecosystem to the public has also received quite high interest with a total of 45,006 visitors and audiences.

FESyar is also part of the Road to Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival (ISEF) 2025, which will be held on October 8-12 2025 in Jakarta, after Fesyar Sumatra, Bank Indonesia will also hold Fesyar KTI and Fesyar Java in July and September 2025.

By strengthening the halal value chain, integration of Islamic commercial and social finance, as well as halal lifestyle literacy, Bank Indonesia is optimistic that the Islamic economy will become the main driver of the national economy and make Indonesia the center of the global sharia economy.
