JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) reported that the volume of digital payment transactions through the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) in May 2025 continued to grow rapidly by 151.70 percent (yoy) supported by an increase in the number of users and merchants.
BI Governor Perry Warjiyo said that the performance of digital economic and financial transactions in May 2025 will continue to grow, supported by a safe, smooth and reliable payment system.
"In terms of transactions, digital payments[1] in May 2025 reached 3.93 billion transactions or grew 27.88 percent (yoy) supported by an increase in all components," Perry said at a press conference, Wednesday, June 18.
Furthermore, the transaction volume of mobile and internet applications continues to grow by 29.32 percent (yoy) and 7.54 percent (yoy), respectively.
Meanwhile, in terms of infrastructure, the volume of retail transactions processed through BI-FAST reached 393.73 million transactions or grew 45.45 percent (yoy), with a value of Rp969.43 trillion.
