Bahlil Asked By Jokowi To Withdraw Rp. 900 Trillion Investment, PDIP: It Will Not Be Easy, Hard

JAKARTA - PDIP politician Hendrawan Supratikno is pessimistic that the Minister of Investment Bahlil Lahadalia can realize President Joko Widodo's target to win an investment contract of Rp900 trillion.

"I think it's quite hard to achieve this big target," Hendrawan told reporters, Monday, May 3.

The member of Commission XI of the DPR said that to achieve the investment target of Rp. 900 trillion this year, massive improvements are needed in all sectors. According to him, without the cooperation and hard work of all parties, the big investment target will be difficult to fulfill.

"The real sector must immediately be addressed with patience and consistency," said Hendrawan.

If the regulations between regions and between agencies can be simplified according to the mandate of the Job Creation Act, said Hendrawan, these targets can only be realized. He also assessed that now is the right moment to seek economic recovery.

"If we are more prepared and alert, we will get a lot of benefits from the flow of investment, because many foreign investors are currently looking for new areas after the pandemic," he explained.

Apart from the big target, said Hendrawan, the government must also be oriented towards fixing problems and accelerating investment realization. Therefore, the member of the commission on finance hopes that Meninvest Bahlil can be skilled at breaking down the investment barriers that have been held back from entering Indonesia.

"If (obstacles, red) have been removed, it will definitely be easier to realize the target. But going back again, this will not be easy," said Hendrawan.

Previously, the Minister of Investment / Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Bahlil Lahadalia, said he was ready to realize the investment realization target that President Jokowi had asked for Rp 900 trillion this year.

"Regarding the investment target, this year is Rp. 856 trillion from Bappenas, but the President is asking for Rp. 900 trillion. As a soldier, I'm ready to do it, Mr. President," said Bahlil Lahadalia, Thursday, April 29.
