Kick-off program which was held online was attended by BRI Senior Executive Vice President Muhammad Candra Utama, Assistant Deputy for Community Capacity Improvement of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia Ika Kusuma Permana Sari, and CEO of Atourin Benirivo Sazi Putra on Monday (26/5/2025).
BRI SEVP Muhammad Candra Utama said that as a bank that has a focus on the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) segment, BRI's role is not limited as a financial intermediary institution and continues to be committed to improving the economy and social value to the community through the BRILiaN Village empowerment program.
"The BRILiaN Village Program is a village empowerment program that aims to produce role models in village development through the implementation of superior village leadership practices and the spirit of collaboration to optimize village potential based on SDGs, and this time BRI is organizing an Empowerment Program to develop all the potential of the Tourism Village based on local wisdom," said Candra.

Meanwhile, since it was first launched in early 2020 to 30 April 2025, the BRILiaN Village Program itself has reached 4,327 villages throughout Indonesia. Candra also explained that Tourism Villages in Indonesia itself still face various problems, such as efforts to increase the income of the surrounding community, limitations in packaging tourism products innovatively and creatively, as well as a lack of understanding in designing attractive tour packages. In addition, tourist villages are also considered not optimal in building networks and collaborating with third parties or the cultural community to market and sell tourism products.
As a result, in response to these challenges, through the BRILiaN Village Program Kick-Off activity, BRI presents a series of comprehensive training that includes the development of soft and hard competencies, as well as assistance in the manufacture and onboarding of tour packages to digital platforms, one of which is through Atourin as a partner of BRI Cooperation.
Through this training, it is hoped that villages can understand the potential of their respective tourism so as to improve the welfare and economy of the community, build and foster support and participation attitudes of the village community, be able to manage the wWsata Village in a sustainable manner, be able to make tour packages according to the potential of their villages, and collaborate or partnership with third parties, including onboarding to platforms so that their products can be accessed by the wider community.
BRI is also optimistic that the existing programs will give birth to tourist villages that are not only touristing destinationally, but also able to grow local entrepreneurs, strengthen village institutions, and create an inclusive and sustainable village economic ecosystem.
