JAKARTA - The Anagata Nusantara Power Investment Management Agency (Danantara Indonesia) targets to invest US $ 5 billion or around IDR 81.54 trillion (exchange rate: IDR 16,309 per US dollar) by 2025.
"Currently, we see that for 2025 it is hoped that we can invest around 5 billion US dollars, in the remaining 6-9 months," said Managing Director of Danantara Indonesia Arief Budiman in an event entitled "Symposium Nasional Sumitronomis and Indonesia's Economic Direction" in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, June 3.
Arief revealed that investment will be allocated for eight main sectors, including minerals including downstreaming, renewables energy, digital infrastructure, health care, financial services, infrastructure utilities, industrial estate, and food as part of food and agriculture.
Meanwhile, sectors that will be targeted are seen from several factors, including those related to their impact on the national economy, how big the yield (return), and opportunities.
Financial services are not to invest in banks or in the financial industry, but how we develop instruments to deepen financial markets, "explained Arief.
Arief projects that the dividends that will be received by Danantara Indonesia from State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) will reach IDR 120 trillion this year.
His party will try to increase the added value of the dividend received through investments made in national strategic sectors.
"The expectation is, from our contribution this year, approximately the dividends contributed are IDR 120 trillion, how can we increase the value of this dividend contribution which will be managed and re-invested by Danantara," said Arief.

In addition to managing dividends, Arief explained that Danantara Indonesia is also used to attract co-investment, both in the form of money and capacity and competitiveness that is not in Indonesia but is very much needed by Indonesia.
On this occasion, he said that was the way Danantara Indonesia was trying to translate the ideas of the Economist of Sumitro Djojohadikusumo, how SOE assets were consolidated, and create added value by optimizing existing assets and investing in important and strategic areas for Indonesia.
"In that process, there is innovation, there is investment in technology, there is human capital, and it is hoped that in doing this we will become a more active driver for development and also for the prosperity of Indonesia together," said Arief.
