The Conglomerate Hartono Brothers Owner Of IDR 560 Trillion Assets Ensures PT Djarum Employees Get One THR Salary

JAKARTA - The tobacco processing company PT Djarum provides holiday allowances (THR) in 2021 to 51,451 workers with a total value of IDR 106.17 billion.

Public Affairs Manager of PT Djarum Kudus Rahma Mochtar said that the amount was an accumulation of THR for daily and grocery labor. In her notes, the value of providing allowances this year is higher than the realization for the 2020 period which amounted to IDR 97.02 billion with 48,118 workers.

"The increase in THR occurs because the number of workers increases and there is also an increase in the District Minimum Wage (UMK) in Kudus from IDR 2.21 million to IDR 2.29 million in 2021. We make sure all workers receive THR one-time salary", she said as quoted on Sunday, May 2.

Rahma added that the THR payment made by the company is a form of responsibility from the Minister of Manpower Regulation No. 06 of 2016 regarding the Religious THR.

"Not only workers who are still active, employees who are laid off or on maternity leave are also given one month's salary", said Rahma. 

For information, this business entity owned by the conglomerate Hartono brothers who is also the richest person in Indonesia employs around 6,892-day laborers and 44,559 piece-time workers.

The THR distribution itself is carried out in two stages, namely cash and transfer. Meanwhile, IDR 1 million was given directly and the remaining IDR 1.29 million was transferred to a bank account

"The company implements a health protocol by washing hands with soap, using masks, and physical distancing", she said.

In addition to consumptive needs, Djarum has openly stated to the workers to be able to use the THR received for other useful purposes, such as paying for children's school needs.

Djarum owners, Michael Bambang Hartono and Robert Budi Hartono are Forbes' richest Indonesians. Michael Bambang Hartono has $ 19.7 billion or around IDR 275.8 trillion, while Robert Budi Hartono has wealth worth $ 20.5 billion or around IDR 287 trillion.
