JAKARTA - The Ministry of Trade through the Commodity Futures Trading Supervisory Agency (CoFTRA) has blocked 225 domains of illegal entity websites in the field of Commodity Futures Trade (PBK) for the period January to May 2025.

Head of CoFTRA Tirta Karma Senjaya said that CoFTRA routinely and continuously carries out online surveillance and observations (observation) of illegal offers for activities in the PBK sector which are widely carried out through online media such as websites, social media, messaging applications, and other applications.

"As of the 2nd week of May 2025, CoFTRA has blocked 225 domains of illegal PBK websites. This blocking effort is carried out to limit the promotion space of illegal entities in the context of protecting the public, including investment under the guise of PBK," he said in an official statement, Friday, May 23.

Tirta said the blocking was carried out by Co-operation with the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi). This step is to prevent potential public losses as a result of illegal activities in the PBK sector.

Furthermore, Tirta explained, illegal entities in the field of PBK use online media to promote and offer their products to the public, create content related to trading, then introduce futures brokering companies from abroad to recruit new potential investors.

Every party conducting business activities in Indonesia must obey and comply with the provisions of the applicable laws and regulations, including for anyone who carries out business activities in the PBK sector. For this reason, these illegal entities must take care of licensing at CoFTRA and carry out business activities in accordance with applicable regulations," Tirta appealed.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Commodity Futures Supervision and Enforcement Bureau, the Warehouse Resi System, and the Matheus Hendro Purnomo Commodity Auction Market, said that CoFTRA also found many investment offers under the guise of PBK which were rife in the community.

Hendro said they offered investment under the guise of PBK by providing high profits and promising fixed income.

People are advised not to be easily tempted by offers of high profits without having a risk. PBK is a business activity that includes high risk high returns, where people can potentially get high profits, but also have a risk that is no less high," said Hendro.

On the same occasion, Secretary of CoFTRA Ivan Fithriyanto invited the public to be careful in transacting at PBK.

He reminded the public not to be easily persuaded by promises of definite benefits.

I invite the whole community to raise awareness. Make sure to understand transactions and their risks. Don't be easily persuaded by the promise of definite profits," explained Ivan.
