Pertamina International Shipping And Subsidiaries Win CSR Award

PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) and its subsidiaries who are members of the Pertamina Group's Sub Holding Integrated Maritime (SH IML), won three prestigious awards again at the CSR Brand Equity and Indonesia Best CSR Awards 2025 from The Iconomics.

This award is given to Pertamina International Shipping (PIS), and two of its subsidiaries, namely Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK), and Pertamina Energy Terminal (PET) for commitment and innovation in the implementation of the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program.

"We are proud and grateful for the award given to us. Through this award, we hope that we can continue to contribute to the community and the environment around the operational areas of PIS and Sub Holding Integrated Marine Logistics," said PIS Corporate Secretary Muhammad Baron, Selsa, May 20.

Through the TJSL, PIS and SH IML programs, it focuses on realizing the welfare of coastal communities, especially fishermen, and in terms of business, realizing an efficient, reliable, and sustainable supply chain focuses on harmony between operations, society and marine ecosystems.

As part of the commitment to sustainability in the social aspect, PIS and SH IML have the TJSL program umbrella, namely "BersEAnergi Untuk Laut" which aims to empower coastal communities where in this case including fishermen, as well as increase public awareness, especially the younger generation, regarding the importance of marine ecosystems for environmental sustainability.

This program to improve the welfare of coastal communities includes assistance in cleaning facilities in fishing villages, provision of environmentally friendly boats for fishermen's operations, and other assistance. In addition, PIS is also active in various other social and environmental initiatives, such as the provision of Apung Hospitals in West Papua and marine education through the LiteraSEA program.

From environmental aspects, PIS and SH IML have a development plan (roadmap) to increase the contribution of green businesses by 34 percent and a 32 percent reduction in carbon emissions by 2034, in line with the long-term vision of zero emissions by 2050 from PIS and the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

PIS also continues to strengthen the implementation of environmentally friendly technology, including the adoption of environmentally friendly fuels B40, the application of dual-fuel engines, as well as Green Ship designs, to ensure PIS and SH IML operations remain in line with environmental sustainability principles.

Meanwhile, the categories of awards received by PIS and its subsidiaries are sure, Pertamina International Shipping - Pertamina Energy Terminal Supply Chain Category - Terminal Energy Management Category, Pertamina Trans Kontinental - Community Economic Empowerment Program Category.

The assessment aspect is based on an online survey conducted in ten cities in Indonesia followed by more than 10,000 random respondents, to assess the aspects of CSR Activity Awareness and CSR Image.

The assessment also includes the total number of CSR/TJSL activities as well as the scope of environmental, social, economic, health, climate change, and education aspects to measure the level of comprehensiveness of the program being implemented.
