A Total Of 84 Percent Of Businessmen Experienced OTP SMS Security Incidents

JAKARTA - PT Indonesia Digital Identity (VIDA), one of the Organizers of Electronic Certification (PSRE) in Indonesia, revealed that 84 percent of business players had experienced security incidents related to SMS OTP.

Meanwhile, 67 percent of consumers have reported illegal transactions.

"The data we collect shows that there are vulnerabilities that we need to overcome together. A strong digital identity verification solution is the key to protecting the public and businesses from cyber threats," said Founder and Group CEO VIDA Niki Luhur as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 8.

He said that the implementation of comprehensive digital identity verification can also build the trust of business people and consumers in the development of sustainable artificial intelligence (AI).

To support cybersecurity in Indonesia, his party has collaborated with a number of national financial services companies, such as Mandiri Taspen, Superbank, BCA Syariah, BNI Multifinance, OVO, and Danasyariah, as well as a number of online loan companies (fintech lending).

VIDA provides digital security infrastructure in the form of online identity verification solutions and VIDA Sign electronic signatures to strengthen the security of digital transactions in these financial service institutions.

Niki stated that he also helped financial service institutions to counter AI-based security threats and prevent misuse of AI for criminal purposes with fraud detection technology (fraud).

He said the services provided by his party were in line with the efforts of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) to develop qualified infrastructure to achieve national AI sovereignty.
