Here's The KKP's Step To Encourage The Marine And Fisheries Sector To Become The Red And White Kopdes

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) is one of 16 ministries/agencies that have the mandate to carry out Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 9 of 2025 concerning the Acceleration of the Establishment of Village/Redih Village Cooperatives.

In carrying out the Presidential Instruction, KKP will later provide guidance, assistance and facilitation to cultivators, salt farmers to fishing groups to form or become members of the Red and White Village Cooperative.

In addition, the KKP has the task of encouraging cooperatives in the marine and fisheries sector (KP) to transform into Village Cooperatives/Red and White Villages.

Quoted from the upload on the official Instagram account @kkpgoid, Thursday, April 24, there are at least 20,000 marine and fishery business groups assisted by the KKP that have the potential to form and/or become members of the Red and White Village Cooperative.

As many as 20,000 KP business groups will later seek to establish 2,000 candidates for the Red and White Village Cooperative in 2,000 villages.

The KKP noted that at least 921 cooperatives were fostered to date.

In detail, 722 active cooperative development and 199 cooperative revitalization are inactive.

The plan is that the KP cooperative will also be transformed into a Red and White Village Cooperative.

The role of fisheries instructors in the establishment of the Red and White Village Cooperative consists of, preparation, being involved in rumors to formulate the establishment of the Red and White Village Cooperative and providing guidance, assistance and empowerment to KP sector business actors who are members of the fisheries business unit in the Merah Putih Cooperative.

For the preparation stage, fisheries extension workers have the task of identifying the potential of the KP sector in the village, disseminating the Red and White Cooperative to KP stakeholders, encouraging KP business actors to join as members of the Red and White Cooperative and encouraging KP business groups to become the Merah Putih Cooperative business units.

Then, for the rumors stage to formulate the establishment of the Red and White Village Cooperative, fisheries extension workers are asked to convey the potential of the KP business to be added to the Red and White Cooperative business unit, conveying data on KP business actors who can become members of the Red and White Cooperative and also become members of the Red and White Cooperative.

"In order to encourage the nation's independence through sustainable food self-sufficiency and development from villages for economic equity towards Indonesia Gold 2045, President Prabowo Subianto formed the Red and White Village Cooperative as stated in Presidential Instruction No. 9/2025," explained the KKP.

Meanwhile, for the final stage, fisheries instructors play a role in the development and assistance of members engaged in the KP business sector and play an active role in the development of the Red and White Cooperative, aka as supervisors.

"This cooperative not only provides savings and loan services, but also supports the distribution of basic necessities, basic health services, agricultural and fishery warehouses as well as various other strategic functions, namely #SahabatBahari," he concluded.
